Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00( Theta ) Disruptive Discipleship (Job 13:9 & Luke 16:15)
These past five days, Mount Carmel hosted a huge gathering of young adults from Canada, California and Minnesota. The group is called The Greenhouse Collective since all these young people are involved in discipleship training in “Theta” style communities. These include the summer ministry of camps like Mount Carmel. As you prepare to listen, get ready to be immersed in hope for the future leaders of our churches as this podcast fills you with the possibilities of what God is doing through these creative young adult ministries.

00Convicted And Converted (Isaiah 6:5; 1 Tim 1:13)
Isaiah and Paul both underwent conviction of their sins and conversion to God’s will. How does this happen for any of us in our daily lives? We may not need to eat hot coals or be knocked off our high horse, but we do need God to change us from the inside out. Today’s texts give us a chance to ask our Lord to clean up our lips and to open our eyes. Let us know how God answers this prayer for you.

The lottery is a false promise. It gives you a quick rush when you buy a ticket with the illusion of all the winnings will do for you. But the real Mega lottery is the ticket bought for you by Jesus. Just hear His voice and all He has won for you. Then trust Him who sent Jesus to you and you are a winner. First you will not be judged. Secondly, the mega life of Heaven will flow through you by the power of the Spirit. Don’t believe it’s possible? Well then listen to our Irish friends declare this promise to you. Listen and listen and listen until the Spirit breaks through and you believe. You can never imagine how you will spend all your winnings.

00(Sundaycast) God’s Peace Comes By His Word And By His People(Isaiah 60:1; Luke 1:78 79)
After nine months of silence, Zechariah’s mouth is unloosed and he brings a tremendous prophecy that his son John will announce. Look at the words in this passage that describe His God. God is “merciful” and “tender.” Is this how you understand your God? Zechariah was a religious leader of his day. Did he know that Jesus would be rejected by other religious leaders because He was “merciful” and “tender” to the wrong kind of people? Zechariah declares that our merciful God will cause the dawn of salvation to break in upon those whose lives are under the shadow of death. That’s us! We know that this light came to us on Easter because God was willing to die killed by our sin. When He was raised from the dead HIs word forgave us. And He caused us to become God’s messengers of forgiving peace on earth. As you consider your tender God guiding you, where will your feet be sent so that you can bring the message of peace on earth to someone you will meet today?

00(Missioncast) The Heart Of The Matter (Deuteronomy 4:39;Phil 4:5,7)
Jeff and Mim discuss what it means to “take to heart” that the Lord is God. There are many images in the Bible that incorporate the heart, which is the considered to be the center of our emotions and identity. The heart is who we are as people. We are to open our hearts to the work of the Spirit. We lift up our hearts to sing God’s praises. We receive Christ into our hearts. Paul writes that our hearts must be cirucmcised (born again). The prophets promises that hearts of stone will turn into hearts of flesh. The heart is the well-spring, the source of life. Jesus promises that he will give the Spirit who will well up in us like living water. One of the ways we can express the joy and peace in our hearts is to share it with others.

00(Familycast) Trip Under God’s Watchful Eyes (Proverbs 5:21; 1 Cor 4:5)
When you find yourself judging others, do you realize you are falling into temptation? When we are finding fault with others usually we already have decided we would never act the way that person is acting. Do we really want God’s help when we are walking down this path in our imagination? In our Lord’s Prayer, when we have asked God to forgive us our “trespasses,” we quickly trespass on our neighbor by judging him or her. Next time we pray “lead us not into temptation” remember this greatest temptation each of us faces, the need to compare ourselves with our neighbor. What does God say, “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). When we are tempted to judge, let’s pour on love.

00(Theta) Way Of The Cross (Isaiah 2:11; 1 Cor 1:27 29)
When Jesus says “I am the way” he is revealing how contrary God’s way is from the world’s way. The world always rewards those who achieve. Many religions do the same. But Christ shows He is God by giving hope, help and a future to those who have nothing. All who are in Christ know that we are here by divine appointment. God chose us. To the world we appear foolish, weak, low, despised, and things that are not. But to God we are His chosen ones. So when you know that you can’t boast about anything the world counts high, remember you have a God who became lowly to pick you to part of His family. Trust God’s decision to choose you for all the reasons the world rejects you. This is God’s will for you. And remember it is exactly what happened to God when He was on the cross the world rejected Him. Jesus is a reject from the world’s point-of-view but God gives us eyes to see all things from heaven’s view point.

00(Familycast) Sexual Love In Marriage (Exodus 20:14; 1 Cor 7:3)
The discussion of our sexual life in marriage is at the heart of today’s podcast. Our friend and mentor, Ingrid Trobisch, not only introduced us to praying the “Daily Texts” but also to an understanding of married love. She and her husband, Walter, spent many years helping people discover the joy of married living in the way that God intended. One of Ingrid’s helpful insights to many of us is “The Marriage Tent.” In this illustration, Ingrid helped us see how the tent is an image of God’s plan to give married love a shelter from the storms of the world. Each corner of the tent has a theme or purpose found in the passage from Genesis 2:24. When these are in tact, our marriages create a shelter for our lives. The problem is that when we fail to live by the word that God gives us in Genesis we create the tent according to our own ideas and not God’s. The result of our sexual rebellion as discussed in today’s podcast is that we experience a “hungry” marriage. The joy of “one flesh” has been lost. Pray for the renewal of “one flesh” in your marriage and in those people for whom you pray.

00(Irishcast) God's Kindness Outworked Through You And Me (Prov 14:31; Matt 19:21)
We are God’s plan for His ministry to the world. God has chosen to use you and me to bring His light into the darkness of our world. God does not have a plan B. It’s us. And God’s victory that overcomes the world is our faith (1 John 5:4). Put your trust in God. Ask your Lord what He wants to do in your life today to be His kindness, His mercy, His riches. And know that however imperfect you feel your efforts will be, the good news is that our Lord loves to use all our imperfect efforts to accomplish what only God can fulfill.
