Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00(Floridacast) Peacemakers In Christ’s Family (Psalm 147:14; Matthew 5:9)(Peacemakers)
Until the day of Isaiah 11 arrives and we have the Peaceable Kingdom with us forever, Jesus has a purpose for us. You and I who are children of God have a job to do. We need to be acting like our Heavenly Father and making peace wherever we know there is conflict that we can do something about. First, we pray. Then we look for an opportunity for God to open a door in the broken relationship and then we seek out the person, asking them to forgive us for whatever wrong we may have committed.So remember, you a are the child of the King. Ask the Spirit to lead you into those relationships which you know you can be a peacemaker…and you’re not just a peacemaker…you’re a blessed peacemaker. Isaiah 11:6-9 [6] The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. [7] The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. [8] The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den. [9] They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

00(Irishcast) God's Firm Foundation (Exodus 33v17 2 Tim 2 V19) (Salvation)
Today’s verses reveal how important it isthat we are known by God. David knew this when he wrote Psalm 139. He marvels at God's intimate awareness: "O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You understand my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down; You are aware of all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD." God knows you. “I am known by the most high God who created the heavens and the earth.” Jesus confirms this when He speaks of Himself as our good shepherd. (John 10:14) “I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me". Spend time today in John 10 and soak in all it means for God to know you. Beloved you are known by God.

Little children call us to pray. Now. As you listen today, you will hear how children do what the Psalmist tells them to do, pray. Jesus knows that we need the encouragement of others to help us pray, and why not children. They will encourage you to pray and since they have done this for you, tell others when you have prayed and how our Lord has answered and helped and even healed you.

Herrnhut (pictured above) became a center for revival and unity. Unity has taken place in the history of the church. It happens when people are vulnerable and admit they are wrong and they need to be forgiven. Then the Spirit of God works a miracle and creates a community. 00(Mission Cast) The Incarnation: The Mighty Work Of God (Psalm 71:16 ; 1 Cor 1:23 24) (Justification)
Jeff and Mim discuss the “mighty deed” of the Lord, that he would become incarnate in the flesh, become one of us and dwell among us. He is the Word of God — Jesus Christ. Often times we associate Christmas Eve with nostalgia: Christmas Pageants, cute but fidgety children dressed as shepherds, wise men, angels and wise men to create a living nativity scene. We forget that this birth was the time of Imperial Rome forcing its vassal state citizens to register for conscription and taxation. Mary and Joseph had no choice but to make the 80-90 mile journey to Bethlehem. Were they anxious or fearful, frustrated or feeling helpless? Who knows. Yet God was quietly working a might deed so that the prophecies would be fulfilled and the Christ be born in Bethlehem. May we have confidence that God is still doing mighty deeds among us even in times of political upheaval and hardship. God is Immanuel. He is always with us. We pre-recorded this podcast because Jeff needs to fly to Oregon to see his father who had emergency surgery to clear an almost complete blockage in one of his arteries to his right leg. We were recording while he was having surgery, not knowing the outcome. We are glad to report that the operation was a success and that he is in recovery. Merry Christmas means you have joy because of Christmas. You are merry. The joy comes from knowing that Jesus who was born on this day came as a gift with your name on it. Christmas becomes merry or joyful when we believe that Jesus came for you…that He came for me. Believing this changes our life. We become merry and bright because of the One who was born this day for us. And we stay that merry way all year through because our Lord never leaves us and keeps filling us with His joy. 00(Floridacast) Christmas Eve God’s Birth Exposes How Helpless We Are (Psalm 89:14; John 1:14) (Grace)
When the gift that is given attacks our self-righteous foundation, we definitely don’t want anything to do with it. “Just leave it there under the tree and don’t bother my world view with your grace and peace.” That is the one reason people despise Christmas. God gives Himself freely for our sakes in a way we never could and really don’t want to. But God keeps giving over and over again so we will finally quit fighting and let the good news of living under grace and reality control our lives. We give up our need to be right. Know people like this person in the cartoon? Yep, “it’s a me it’s a me it’s a me old Lord, standing in the need of prayer.” Pray. Pray for yourself to receive God’s kindness. Let go of your need to be right and let the righteousness of God fill you with all the fullness of God. And then you can begin praying for others to receive what you have finally received. 00(Irishcast) God’s Good Gift From Heaven To Earth (Haggai 2v4 2 Cor 9v6)
What’s in this package for you? We are learning this week about how God packages His love for us. Yesterday in our downloaded meditation, we discovered that God sent Jesus gift wrapped in Mary. And the promise for her is the promise for you and for me. God has a gift hidden in each of us to be unwrapped by someone who needs to know the special love of God for imperfect people. This love is called grace. This grace was born in an imperfect stable in Bethlehem and it will be born again through your imperfect world. The love of God comes looking for us. Jesus doesn’t wait for us to seek Him, he seeks and saves us who are lost. God’s love put on flesh and blood so that we might know that God’s love is for real. Today in our downloaded meditation in the prayer journal, you have a chance to hear the special love of God for you spoken in the Shepherd’s Voice. After the podcast download it and share it. 00(Floridacast) All That We Have Comes From God (Habakkuk 2:6; Luke 16:10) (Repentance)
The words above come from a traditional worship song sung as our response after the offering was received. The congregation would rise after the offering and sing it. I have changed the word “alone” to “A LOAN.” My friend, John, who came to Mount Carmel every Sunday for worship taught me this way of understanding the meaning of this song. Everything belongs to God. As the text from Habakkuk declares, all we have is a gift given to us. It is a LOAN or a TRUST. But how do we treat the things we have been given? We need a spirit of repentance to consider again that everything we have comes from our God. How do we return to God what is His? And then we remember that our God is the One who lavishes upon us all He has to give. We can’t out give God!
