The Apple Of God’s Eye (Zech 2:8; 1 Cor 1:28) (Trust)

St.Patrick’s Day was not March 17 but instead it was the day he heard God his Father tell him the truth about himself. When he heard the Shepherd’s Voice tell him he was the “apple of God’s eye,” it made his day. Before then he was controlled by the Church of England which told him he was an embezzler and a criminal. Later, the church would put green clothes on his body and a Bishop’s hat (mitre) on his head. But that was much later. He died knowing that he was a saint in God’s eyes before a holiday would be invented for him. That’s all that matters. You and I will die before we get sainted by the church or they make holidays in our honor. But we will also die knowing the same truth that Patrick knew when he was just a priest and an evangelist. God the Father says to you and to me, “You are the apple of my eye.”

Old Testament Verse

For thus said the Lord, "Truly, one who touches you touches the apple of my eye."
Zechariah 2:8

New Testament Verse

God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to abolish things that are.
1 Corinthians 1:28

Prayer

Lord, how is it that you love me so much? I feel unworthy of your love because of my sin, and yet, you forgive and renew me and make my lowly life beautiful in Christ. By your grace, I am the apple of your eye. Teach me to love others as you love me. Amen.
