(Theta) Continuing Ascension (Proverbs 23:17 & Luke 24:46 48) (Redemption)

Ascension Day raises our biggest spiritual question. Do we want the golden age of our lives restored? Is our best version of the future a restored past? It’s what we know. But Jesus tells us to look ahead. Our future depends on the way Jesus makes our stories work for good. Jesus calls us to a restoried life. A life shaped by the power of the Spirit who will come to the disciples in 10 days and lead them into eternity helping all the lost and broken people in the world to discover how to live restoried lives together as Christ’s body on earth.

Prayer

Jesus, Savior, you offer me the greatest of gifts: you call me to witness your suffering, death and rising. Still, there is foolish envy in my heart. Please cast it out, Lord. Thank you for pulling me daily from the grave of my own making and enlivening my vision. Let me gladly proclaim your invitation to new life. Amen.
