Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. 00(Sharecast) Fabi And Juliano Share God’s Travel Plans Even When We Fail Him (Deut 1:31; Luke 24:35)
Today’s guests are from Brazil. Juliano is a pastor in a Lutheran church in Pelotas. But he also is serving as the Executive Director of a mission movement in that area that provides support to clergy and helps expand the outreach of the church. Fabi serves as an English teacher but is very involved in the church and the movement that her husband directs. Isaac and Isabella are their two children. They have been given a four month sabbatical. They were involved for two months in at Faith Lutheran in Hutchinson, MN. Now they are living in Hudson, WI and are connected to Shepherd of the Valley. They will return to their home the day after Thanksgiving. One thing we are thankful for today is their willingness to admit their failures as followers of Jesus. We can all learn from their example how we can be honest with one another and tell the truth when we fall short. When we are weak Jesus is strong.

Nathan is joined by Dr. Winfield Bevens (pictured above). He is an Anglican priest, professor, author, church planter, and artist. He is painting “A cloud of witnesses” in the prayer chapel at Trinity in San Pedro. The tilted photo helps us realize that saints are always living a life with their eyes on Jesus just like you do. It’s almost like we as saints have a different center of gravity when our Lord’s eternal presence is at work in us. 00Weak People Are God’s Winners (1 Samuel 2:4; 2 Corinthians 12:10)
Persecuted Christians who were followers of Jan Hus, found refuge on the estate of Count Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf in Saxony, in 1722. These refugees built small homes and developed a community of believers who spread the gospel around the world in the next 100 years. It was the most effective world mission since the church began in 33 AD. The “Daily Texts” were carried with these messengers and as a result it is translated into more than 50 languages. You can read more about this on page 176 in your “Daily Texts” book. Our pilgrimage tour next year begins right after Easter on April 21. At the end of our tour, we will spend a night in Herrnhut learning all about this history and how the texts are chosen annually. Then we will go to Prague to discover the foundation of the Moravian’s faith in the message of Jan Hus who was burned as a martyr in July of 1415. When he died he prophesied, “you can burn this goose (Hus) today but 100 years from now God will raise up a swan and him you shall not kill.” That swan was Martin Luther. 00Seek To Fight The Good Fight Of Faith (Hosea 3:5; Matthew 7:8)
Veteran’s Day gives us opportunities to consider how we can make a difference for the soldiers who have served in our armed forces. What can you learn today about the needs of veterans who live near you? Take time to learn about their needs. A few friends of mine want to see how an outreach to patients at the Minneapolis VA hospital could be created that would provide words of encouragement with Bible study. Please pray for this opportunity of ministry to become a reality. And ask, seek and knock to see what our Lord may want you to do.

00(Sundaycast) The Sweet Swap: Our Rags For His Robes (Isaiah 61:10; Eph 5:9)
The Forgivin’ Livin’ ministry proclaims the happy exchange or the sweet swap. It is stated in 2 Corinthians 5:21: “For our sake God made Jesus to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” But it is found in many other places in the Bible. Today we discover this sweet swap transaction in Isaiah where God trades his wedding robes of beauty and grace for our filthy rags of sin and shame (Isaiah 61:10 and Isaiah 64:6). None of us likes to think we are that bad that all our good deeds are rags, like a dirty diaper or something similar. But that is the good news message of the Bible. All your goodness stinks. You are impure. You are contaminated. The only detergent that can clean you up is the blood of Christ. His death cleans you up from the inside out. So you are pure. You are holy. It is all a gift of God. And you get new clothes out of the deal. You get to wear Jesus’ hand me downs now and for eternity.

00(Mission Cast) The Lord Still Reigns (Psalm 103:22; Eph 1:5 6)
No wing of politics, left or right, can claim God as being on its side. Jesus had his own political agenda, to do the will of his Father. Jesus cannot be made to serve the interest of one political party. Today, Jeff and Mim briefly reflect on U.S. Elections and assert that Jesus is still Lord over all. They turn their attention to what it means to disciple a generation of disaffected youth and young adults through careful mentorship and discipleship, recalling the example of “I WILL” in Shanghai, China that was shut down by the Chinese Communist Party and its founders imprisoned — all for helping young, disaffected adults grow in maturity both in Christ and as productive citizens.

00Vindictive Or Vindicated (Isaiah 63:1; Matt 20:15 16)
When people catch you doing something wrong it’s pretty easy for them to shame you, to blame you, to find fault with what you did to get in the trouble that you’re in. You also are good at saying these words if vindictiveness to yourself. When others join you in shaming yourself, it is a spiral that can lead to some pretty severe depression. How do we get free from from this kind of vindictive judgment? Someone needs to vindicate us. That someone is Jesus. Jesus gives us the power to live differently because of His presence that stands between all those who accuse you and yourself. This may even be that voice inside of you that you listen to instead of the promises of the Lord. So Jesus announces to you, “I am mighty to save. And I save you who cannot save yourself because I am generous with my grace upon grace. I am announcing my vindication to you. You are saved.” Rest in the verdict that Jesus is speaking over you. You are vindicated! You are forgiven! You are free!
