How can God get through to you that you are greatly beloved? We know that by nature we are suspicious of anyone who shows us too much love. What do they want from us, we think? But over and over the writers of the New Testament want us to know that we are truly beloved of God even with all our wicked ways. But this is because God cannot help it…He overflows with love. And when you and I finally receive this grace filled love of God…we can’t help ourselves either…we love because God first loved us. So….how will you love your world today?
I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Jeremiah 31:3
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
John 3:16
My heart is filled with love and joy. Thank you, God, for your everlasting love and faithfulness. I am so sorry it was because of my sins that you sacrificed your only Son. Now I have your promise of eternal life. Help me willingly to sacrifice my own comfort so others might receive your love and mercy. Amen.
