(Sundaycast) Forgiveness Is For Evil People (Proverbs 3:27:James 2:2 4) (Forgiveness)

Rikka and Gorden and Sonja and I are helping with the Reformation worship service today at Prince of Peace in Honolulu. The pastor is Gloria Imamura, a good friend of Ground Up Grace, and a friend from our years at Mount Carmel. She gets copies of the “Daily Texts” for her members and even encourages them to listen to the podcast regularly. So our Sundaycast voices are familiar to the people we will be worshiping with today. Now just so you know, we don’t make judgments about which church we should be at for Reformation Sunday just because the pastor supports our GUG outreach but it probably helps to have Pastor Gloria who really wants us here on this weekend. So we are going to be a part of the Sunday morning worship and doing our “Table Talk” ministry of sharing how we forgive one another during the meal that will follow the worship. Old Testament Verse

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

New Testament Verse

If a person with gold rings and in fine clothes comes into your assembly, and if a poor person in dirty clothes also comes in, and if you take notice of the one wearing the fine clothes and say, "Have a seat here in a good place, please, " while to the one who is poor you say, "Stand there, " or, "Sit by my footstool, " have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Prayer

Lord God, I admit that I have failed to see others as you do-persons worthy of your love, kindness, and affirmation. I ask you to grant me your heart. I want my attitudes and actions to reach the unlovable and hurting in my little world. Open my calloused eyes to do good to anyone marginalized and forgotten. Amen.
