Jeff reflects on the sacramental nature of missions. We are blessed, broken, and sent into the world as ambassadors for Christ, laying down our lives in his service, as he laid down his for us, so that the others might know Christ and have eternal life. I asked AI to generate a fractal image of the Last Supper which captures the sacramental nature of discipleship, i.e., that we are blessed to be broken and given to the world as Christ’s ambassadors of love and grace, proclaiming salvation in Christ Jesus through faith alone. This is what AI came up with. As the Father sent the Son, the Father and Son sent the Holy Spirit, so we are sent by Jesus Christ into the world as his disciples to make disciples.
You shall eat your bread to the full and live securely in your land.
Leviticus 26:5
The bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.
John 6:33
Bread of Heaven, you give me a new perspective on the law of love. Where I expect to be punished, you nourish me so I might flourish. Purify my heart so through obedience to you I can nurture hope and a sense of love and care for my neighbor. Show me how to reach out and sow seeds of hope. Amen.
