Asking! Yesterday Jesus told us we needed to ask for what we needed in His Name so that our joy may be complete. Today Jesus is asking our Father to protect us from the evil one. During football season, we know that the person with the football has to be protected from those who want to stop him from running down the field. Jesus has handed off the ball of the Kingdom of God into our hands. Jesus knows we need to be protected for us to fulfill the purpose our Father has for us. We know that our Lord has already won the game but each of us has a purpose to fulfill and there is an enemy who wants to stop us. Remember when you run into the devil’s obstacles that the devil has already lost and he is just looking for ways to make you feel miserable as you run for your Lord. Your Father in heaven will protect you from the evil one. Keep telling the devil this whenever the devil comes against you.
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him."
Psalm 91:14 NIV
I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.
John 17:15
Ever-loving and everlasting God, thank you for your prayers for me. Your intercession for me and my protection is a blessing above all blessings. Thank you also for first loving me, so I can love you and all people. I regret often waiting for someone to love me before loving them. Forgive me. Help me to love like you. Amen.
