Jeff and Mim discuss the Covenant that God made with David and fulfilled in Jesus Christ: “I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” Jesus Christ is presence of God as confirmed through his death, resurrection, and ascension. We have this confirmation in our hearts, through the Spirit, by grace through faith, that we are loved by God. Then, we went off on a tangent discussing people in our lives who have loved us unconditionally like Jesus and how we aspire to love others in the same way so that future generations will know Jesus Christ, their true Lord and Savior.
David prayed, "And now, O LORD God, as for the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, confirm it forever; do as you have promised."
2 Samuel 7:25
Of this man's posterity God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.
Acts 13:23
Lord God, thank you for keeping your promise to bring forth through David a Savior-Jesus, our Lord. Even in my disobedience and unfaithfulness, you remain unwavering in your commitment to me. I trust in your eternal promises, knowing that you keep them forever. Strengthen my faith in your unchanging word. Amen.
