Psalm 27 has shaped the lives of all of us in different ways. Today’s selection of verse 14 brings us back to the war against Ukraine when we discovered how important it was to pray this Psalm over that nation and the battle they were fighting against Russia. The image above was sent out to many different email addresses encouraging churches to pray for Ukraine using the words of this Psalm. In today’s podcast you will hear another occasion in another battle zone when the words of Psalm 27 gave comfort to Prisoners of War in the Philippines. What kind of battle are you in today? How can the words of this Psalm give you peace and hope in your battle as you wait upon God to bring His fulfillment into your reality?
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Psalm 27:14
Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask of him."
John 11:21-22
God of all hope, in moments of uncertainty and grief, help me trust in your perfect timing and power. Strengthen my heart to wait for you with courage, knowing that you are in control. Even when I do not understand, remind me that you work all things for good. May my faith in you remain unwavering. Amen.
