What time is it to God? We are people driven by the clock, by days, dates and centuries. This is chronological time. It’s important. But God is committed to what happens in a timely way…”kairos” time. “The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, repent and believe the gospel.” Jesus declares this kind of time in Mark 1:15. God doing something special in our lives created this eternal time. And even the end of time is controlled by God. (Matthew 24:36)For Jesus again declares that no one knows that time. “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” What is time to God? It’s time when you discover the presence of God at work in you, through you, and for you.
For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past or like a watch in the night.
Psalm 90:4
The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Loving God, your time and ways are incomprehensible. Thank you for your promises. I'm sorry I am impatient for you to answer my prayers. You watch over me; you want me to walk with you. Today I will say yes to your forgiveness and will receive all you have for me. I live with expectant hope. Amen.
