(Sundaycast) Hudsoncast Forgiveness Stories (Genesis 50:17; Eph 4:32) (Forgiveness)

orgivin’ Livin’ is the purpose of our podcast ministry. Today’s verses underscore the power of forgiveness in both the story of Joseph who doesn’t let revenge control his relationship with those brothers who hurt him and in St. Paul’s writing. He lived daily with the awareness of being forgiven by the God whose followers he had persecuted, imprisoned and even killed. We cannot give away forgiveness if we have never received it. That is why Christ’s absolution is so vital to us. Each of us knows that on the cross our Lord asked His Father to forgive us since we did not know what we were doing to kill the Son of God. You can learn more about the power of absolution by going to on our web page to the “Blog posts.” Read about absolution there. Also, the bookmarks in the photo are used by us when we go to churches to share our “Table Talk” ministry that helps people practice giving and receiving forgiveness. Old Testament Verse

Joseph's brothers said, "Now therefore please forgive the crime of the servants of the God of your father."
Genesis 50:17

New Testament Verse

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32

Prayer

Lord, make your way of kindness and forgiveness my way. Forgive me when my selfish nature demands my own way. Change me, Lord, to see myself like Joseph, as one who can forgive the sins of those who have hurt me. Soften my hard heart and give me your tender heart for those you want me to forgive. Amen.
