(Irishcast) The Lord Who Calms The Storms (Ps 89v9 Matt 8v26) (Trust)

Artist Bernard Allen captures the intensity of the waves overcoming the small boat in which Jesus is resting in the back(stern). His calm expression makes the disciples even more stern. How can God really care if He shows no anxiety? Why do we measure God by our feelings in a situation? What does our Lord want us to learn by His calm approach to any problem we face?

Old Testament Verse

You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.
Psalm 89:9

New Testament Verse

And Jesus said to them, "Why are you afraid, you of little faith?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a dead calm.
Matthew 8:26

Prayer

Powerful Creator God, you control the forces of nature. Why then do I let the storms of life create such turmoil? I'm thankful there is no stormy area of human nature that you cannot calm. May I always trust that your power that stilled the raging sea will carry me through any trial I face. Amen.
