Jeff and Mim discuss the rich word image of 1 Peter 5:7 in which we are to “throw” our anxieties upon Jesus, because he cares for you. We also contemplate Elihu’s redirection of Job’s focus to the skies and weather to stand in awe before the forces of nature. We marvel at God’s common grace and generosity to all, causing the rains of blessing to fall on the good and bad, just and unjust of the world. Through the Spirit, we are being transformed, degree by degree, into the same generous likeness of the Jesus and Father, We marvel at God’s work in the lives of all believers. Our heritage is to bless and renew the face of the earth, just like the Father. Note: You will hear our dog, “ZEKE” (short for Ezekiel 34), going in and out his dog door — he wanted our attention.
He does great things that we cannot comprehend.
Job 37:5
For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:45
God, I don't understand your ways. But while I have only a point of view, you have the whole view. Thank you for the grace that covers everyone, even people I struggle to love. When injustice oppresses me and others, remind me that I already have all I need. Grant me the joy of celebrating your love for all. Amen.
