As servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

O God, you are our strength and our abiding hope. Today we gather to praise your saving power. We regret that we often look to external circumstances for comfort instead of clinging to your promises. Forgive us so that we may be free from trusting in our circumstances and may live out of your fullness alone. Amen.
