Jeff and Mim are joined today by good friends Chris, Nicole, and Katie as we discuss how the Lord comforts us so that we can comfort others. We discuss how Jesus is our Great High Priest and comforter; he fully understands what it is to be us because he became human. We mention the Psalms as a great resource to express our feelings and to receive comfort, and we discuss the ministry of presence, as a friend, sharing life together, whether it be with a cup of coffee or a meal.
I will save you, and you shall be a blessing.
Zechariah 8:13
God, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
2 Corinthians 1:4
Saving Lord, thank you for calling me to share your gift of consolation. When you rescued me, I was desolate, yet you call me to comfort others. I know nothing but what you have done for me. Please gather in my heart the saving love you've given. As it is your will, please make me a blessing. Amen.
