Johan and Sonja share their testimony

Unlearning habits and ways of perceiving reality was necessary for us to learn what God meant by doing good. But first we had to admit that we needed help. Then the Holy Spirit had to give us relief because our habits were oppressing us more than we realized. Our prayer is that this podcast ministry with the DAILY TEXTS can help all of us daily unlearn what oppresses us and learn from our Lord what sets us free for good.

Old Testament Verse

Learn to do good; seek justice; rescue the oppressed.
Isaiah 1:17

New Testament Verse

Agabus predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine over all the world, and this took place during the reign of Claudius. The disciples determined to send relief to the brothers and sisters living in Judea.
Acts 11:28-29

Prayer

Gracious Lord, thank you for seeing homeless and oppressed people, often invisible in the eyes of society. Have mercy on those of us who turn away in the presence of poverty. Increase my awareness of the needs around me. Give me fresh ideas on how to relieve the widespread problems of poverty in this country and around the world. Amen.
