There are many verses in the Old and New Testament that declare God’s love for us and even more as He says in Jeremiah, God delights in us. But sometimes words aren’t enough. in case you have your doubts about your goodness in God’s eyes, remember. Remember what God did for you on the cross. Remember how God connected His death to the last Supper when He said, remember. Be assured that every time you struggle with your unworthiness, as was considered yesterday, remember. Remember how your God wants to be remembered.
Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he the child in whom I delight? As often as I speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore I am deeply moved for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:20
God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew.
Romans 11:2
Gracious God, thank you for delighting in Ephraim instead of remembering his disappointments. You doubly blessed him. You will doubly bless me as well. Forgive me for pondering what I lack. Help me instead to ponder anew what you can do. May I focus on what your love does and not on my limitations. Amen.
