Moses at the end of his life having seen God’s miraculous hand over and over still says these words with all humility. I heard one of the most memorable sermons my first year at seminary preached on this text(1969). The preacher was a Norwegian named Per. I ended up buying his cross country skis which I gave to a relative. Then years later I discovered this man was a ministry colleague of my good friend Berger who lives in Norway. And then our Theta friends knew this man’s daughter who was married to the pastor at the Norwegian Seaman’s Mission in San Pedro. So at the end of my life I can say with Moses how wonderful it is to be just beginning to see the new things our God does.
O Lord GOD, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your might.
Deuteronomy 3:24
Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me.
John 17:24
My Lord, the more I know you, the more I see your greatness and might. Thank you for revealing yourself through the wonders of nature and the fulfillment of your Word. Your desire for me to be with you in glory humbles and awes me. Help me to declare boldly your goodness and grace. Amen.
